From Good to ¡Dios Mío!: Finding Your Perfect Coffee Ratio

When it comes to brewing coffee, the secret to the perfect cup often lies in the little details. One of the most important factors is the coffee-to-water ratio. Too much coffee can make your brew too strong, and too little can leave it weak and bland.

But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! Whether you’re using a pour-over, French press, espresso machine, or even brewing cold brew, getting the ratio just right is the key to unlocking the full flavor potential of your coffee. Here are the general guidelines based on your brewing method:

1. Pour-over or Drip Coffee
For a smooth and tasty cup of coffee, use 1 gram of coffee for every 15 grams of water.

So, for a cup of coffee (about 250ml or 8.5 oz) of water, just use one tablespoon of ground coffee (16-17 grams). It's that easy!

Experience the process with robust roasted coffee featuring hints of cocoa

2. French Press
For a rich, full-bodied cup of coffee, the French press is your best friend. Use the 1:15 ratio to bring out those bold flavors.

So, for a cup (350ml or 12 oz) of water, just use 1.5 tablespoons of ground coffee (about 23 grams). It's that simple!

Extract notes of caramelized and balanced coffee with the French press for all your mornings

3. Moka Pot
For a strong, espresso-like coffee, the Moka Pot is the way to go. Use a slightly coarser grind and the 1:10 ratio for an intense brew.

For a standard Moka pot (about 300ml or 10 oz of water), use around 2 tablespoons of ground coffee (about 18 grams). Enjoy that rich, aromatic espresso-style coffee!

Brew Tip: Don’t be afraid to play around and adjust the ratio to suit your taste! That’s the beauty of brewing your own coffee—you get to make it exactly how you like it. Want it stronger? Add a little more coffee. Prefer it milder? Dial it back. It’s all about finding that sweet spot that makes your perfect brew.

Whether you’re pulling a quick shot of espresso or crafting a slow and steady cold brew, understanding your coffee-to-water ratio is the key to making every cup feel like a masterpiece. Happy brewing, and remember—when you get it just right, you’ll be saying, "¡Dios Mío!" with every sip!
